Building impact together

After many years seeking for ideas and motivation, together with gaining more experience, it has come the time for me to become an entrepreneur.

Bonomi Desenvolvimento Empresarial is born with the purpose of supporting impact entrepreneurs thrive. I want to support entrepreneurs by shaping strategies so we can build impact together.

Our services include:

· Financial advisory for corporate finance and project finance

· Strategic advisory and planning

· Business development and commercial strategy

What is the market motivation behind it?

· Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) investment gap: do you know the estimated annual investment gap between current investments and what is needed to realize SDGs worldwide is around 2.5 trillion dollars (WEF, 2018)?

· Impact Investing: While the global impact investing market is estimated at 100 billion dollars yearly, this number can be even higher if you consider there is so much to invest to improve inequalities all over the world.

· ESG funds: when comparing ESG (environmental, social and governance) funds with non-ESG funds, the ESG ones have outperformed the others in the last 10 years.

· Why Brazil? Studies I made at Cornell University demonstrated that Brazil has an amazing opportunity to develop projects that improve society and environment. While the impact investing market is currently estimated at 1 billion dollars annually, there are several initiatives that show that the market potential is hidden. We need to unlock it.

· Why globally? Global leaders and initiatives are all moving towards sustainable practices and incentives. Europe, China, USA, etc. are all making a shift that include going zero carbon in the long term. Brazil, for example, has one of the best environmental conservation laws in the world. The issue is how we can execute it.

What is my personal motivation behind the firm?

Early days in my career:

Since I was pursuing my engineering degree, I always wanted to develop a business that provided positive impact.

My professional journey started by working in two endeavors that brought me closer to what I wanted to do later in my career.

While working at Finenge, a financial advisory boutique, I was able to work on structuring deals with companies that were seeking for funding with Development Financial Institutions for projects that had social and environmental benefits.

In parallel, my volunteering experience developing and leading social projects at Instituto CEO do Futuro, made me see a different reality and how I can use my business knowledge to improve NGOs and communities seeking for improvement.

Making a big shift:

When I decided to take one of my biggest steps in life and to pursue my MBA at Cornell University, I also made a career move that was very important to me. I went to work for Pragmatis, a management consulting firm, which helped me not only to learn more about company management and how we can make it more efficient, but also to improve my leadership skills.

During my MBA at Cornell, I went further and not only learnt more about how to be more entrepreneurial by working with several startups and corporations, but also I received a fellowship to study more about Environmental Finance and Impact Investing strategies.

Present and future:

After more than 3 years in the US, it is time for a new chapter in my life. Since I have been back in Brazil, I have been taking a very interesting course held by the Instituto de Cidadania Empresarial (ICE) and Sense-Lab on Impact. My skills on social and environmental impact are better shaped.

My purpose is to help companies strategize solutions towards improving our world and make it feasible financially, operationally and business wise.

Do you have the same purpose? Does your company have the same purpose?

Let’s talk! I want to learn from you and help you succeed!
